In betweens

The artwork is a collage and assemblage of multiple small wooden pieces that come together as both an object and a sculpture. Several layers, elevations, recesses, and hollows create a deep three-dimensionality, revealed as light touches the glossy black surfaces and textures. Thematically, the sculpture explores what is left unspoken and untold, how, even within a shared language, much remains unsaid, overlooked, or suspended in between.
The final sculpture captures only a single moment in time, holding it still, but ultimately it is only what is seen and felt. Each encounter with the work allows the viewer to bring their own 'in-betweens'.
